With over 25 years of experience in international education, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse student communities across the globe. My career has spanned teaching, leadership, and pastoral roles, with a strong focus on creating supportive, enriching environments where students thrive academically and personally.
For more than 13 years, I’ve worked in international boarding schools, taking on roles as a houseparent and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). These responsibilities have deepened my commitment to student wellbeing and reinforced the importance of trust, structure, and care in residential education.
As a fully qualified educator, I stay current through ongoing certifications and continuous professional development. I believe in lifelong learning—not just for students, but for educators too—and I bring that mindset into every aspect of my work.
I support young people in their academic and personal development through expert teaching, pastoral care, and leadership in international education settings. My role combines classroom teaching with residential responsibilities, ensuring students feel supported both inside and outside the classroom. I specialise in helping students build confidence, independence, and a love of learning, while also maintaining high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing.
I hold a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), alongside a Master’s degree in Teaching & Learning, which has deepened my understanding of effective pedagogy and educational leadership. I also hold the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL), equipping me to lead teams and initiatives within schools. As a Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), I am fully trained to uphold and implement robust safeguarding practices across school communities.
Throughout my career, I’ve taught a wide range of academic programmes, including GCSEs, A Levels, and the International Baccalaureate (IB). I am experienced with Cambridge iGCSEs and support students preparing for English language qualifications such as Trinity and IELTS. My familiarity with multiple curricula allows me to adapt my teaching to meet varied student needs and international standards.
My subject specialisms include English Literature and Language, English as a Second Language (ESL), History, Philosophy & Ethics, and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). I bring both subject expertise and an interdisciplinary approach to the classroom, encouraging critical thinking, communication, and a global perspective in every lesson.

I have set up and run boarding systems from scratch, creating a safe, nuturing environment for students to live, learn and grow. Social and emotional education was at the centre of the pastoral experience. I also led boarding support teams, organising a rich and varied weekend activities timetable for all students and ensuring and cooking a varied, delicious and nutritious menu for the boarders.
Working as DSL & Pastoral Lead, I have organised and supervised all aspects of safeguarding and pastoral support in school, working with all colleagues to ensure the students are healthy, happy and safe.
For the last 25 years, I have taught a variety of subjects to students aged 10 to 80. Lessons have been fun and designed to stretch & challenge all students. My external results have always been excellent, with positive residuals across the board.
